Cavalcade is a play by Noël Coward. It focuses on three decades in the life of the Marryotts, a quintessential British family, and their servants, beginning at the start of the 20th century and ending on New Year's Eve in 1929. The play premiered in London in 1931 at the large Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. The spectacular production involved a huge cast and massive sets. The play was very successful and ran for almost a year.  A karácsonyi magyar vásár. A Tulipán-Szövetség — Magyar Védő-Egyesület váci fiókja nagy buzgalommal dolgozik azon, hogy a tervbe vett karácsonyi vásár minél jobban sikerüljön. A vásár helyiségével rendbe jött már az egylet vezetősége, a mennyiben e célra a Kúria vendéglő nagy termét szerződés alapján lefoglalta már. A vásár december 9-étől 23-ig tart. Az előkészítő bizottság tagjai részletesen megismertették a kereskedőkkel és iparosokkal a vásár célját. A kereskedők és iparosok belátva azt, hogy e vásári mozgalom a magyar ipar pártolása címén egyenesen és kizárólag az ő anyagi hasznukat van hivatva előmozdítani, készséggel és örömmel Ígérték meg, hogy csatlakoznak a mozgalomhoz. Sőt tudtunkkal már több vidéki gyáros és kereskedő is fordult már e vásár ügyében az egyesület elnökségéhez. Mi e karácsonyi magyar vásárt nagyon is alkalmasnak tartjuk arra, hogy egyrészt a közönség tettekben pártolja a magyar termékeket, másrészt pedig a kereskedő világ anyagi kockázat nélkül hathatósabban vegyen részt a magyar ipar termékeinek forgalomba hozatalával. Itt adjuk közre azt is, hogy az e vásárt előkészítő bizottság tagjait a további részletek megvitatása végett f. hó negyedikének délutáni három órájára hívta össze az egyesület elnöke az ő lakására. He was employed c. 1650 by Gaston d'Orleans, brother of Louis XIII, to paint on vellum the birds and flowers kept in the menagerie and botanical garden at the chateau of Blois; these watercolours, along with those subsequently made for Louis XIV, number around 700 and constitute the nucleus of the Collection des Velins of botanical art and natural history now in the library of the Musee National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris.
